What is going on here

Hello, My name is Dan Greenberg and I would like to tell you my story and what made me build this web site.

I was born and raised in Israel in a small city near Tel-Aviv called; Ramat-Hasharon. When I was 18 like every Israeli I went to the army and served three years as a paramedic.

After the army I traveled in South-America and Asia: long vacations while I could (lol). After traveling I did a degree in communication and managing in an Israeli college.

When I finished my degree in 2002 I decided that I want to travel again and I decided to go to USA. I started in New-York. After enjoying myself for a while I came across my first employer in the diamond business BBY Diamonds.

I started working in the diamond business without any previous knowledge so the first few months were learning a new language: the diamond language.

After a few months learning the basics I had enough knowledge to start going out to the roads. Just to explain, BBY diamonds is a wholesale company, meaning; I sold diamonds to jewelry stores.

My job was basically to set up meetings with store owners and traveling to their stores in order to sell loose diamonds.

At the beginning I traveled mostly to Maine area and then started to travel every few weeks to the South-East region.

After a year traveling to both regions the company decided that I should focus more on the South-East and therefore I moved to Atlanta.

One thing I have to tell you about this job is that it isn’t the safest job in the world. Many vendors get robbed and I was very close to get robed twice. I was both lucky and alerted so everything turned out fine.

After two years with BBY I decided to start my own small diamond company and in order to do that I combined forces with a small diamond manufacture from Israel.

Basically I kept on doing the same sales but with better prices and more flexibility. I enjoyed my job very much; I have been in cities that most Americans have never heard about. I met different people, ate in all sort of places (love Cracker Barrel), and spent many nights in different motels.

I believe that my experience working mainly with jewelers but also with a few friends that needed an engagement ring assisted me to understand the difficulties when looking for a diamond.

I want also to say that I wasn’t trained to be a gemologist. I was trained to sell and also later to buy diamonds in the right price, I didn’t analyze diamonds just to know their stats, I was trained to understand their market value which means their beauty and market demands.

I left the diamond business when I returned to Israel a year ago. I missed Israel and the diamond business was hard. The thing is that I have a vast knowledge that shouldn’t be wasted and can really help shoppers to buy diamonds much better.

My main aim here is taking off the big curtain that covers this business and to make it easier for you to buy your next diamond easily and comfortably.
